A Message For Anyone Seeking Home Improvement In Or Around Acadia National Park, Mount Desert Island

The holidays are fast approaching. Now is the time to book your cleanings and home improvement projects before it's too late.


This year a new cleaning company was started in Bar Harbor, Maine. That company was Homes of Acadia. My name is Ian Meyer, and I founded this business with my wife, Nikki. Since we've started we've met and cleaned for many folks on the Island, in Ellsworth and everywhere in between.



We've worked really hard earning everyone's trust to take care of their homes. Through those efforts we have also built a very solid reputation not only around the Island but also on Facebook and Google. Check us out to see what our clients are saying!


As we started to do cleanings many of our clients began asking if we can help with things around their property like standard maintenance or home improvements. Turns out they were looking in the right place as I have an extensive background in building homes and doing DIY projects over the past 20 years.


From working as an apprentice under a master carpenter for nearly 6 years doing new construction and renovations, to branching off on my own with fellow co-workers to do a wide range of home improvement projects outside of carpentry. I once spent a year and a half working on a complete renovation inside and out on a dilapidated house and barn in Cherryfield, ME and turned it into a beautiful livable home and winery.



We started Homes of Acadia Handyman Services. Which is growing just as rapidly as the cleaning services we've been providing to folks in the area. Between the two, in just 6 short months we are already busy with work every single day and will be now for 2 months into the future. In summary, our services are in high demand. And I believe it's because we always strive for excellence that we remain very busy.


With That Said


We wanted to put the word out. We get calls and emails every week inquiring for our services, but have to turn most people down as they want something done for their home in the next week or two, which we just can't accommodate at this point. So we wanted to bring everyone up to speed with what's going on so they have more of a heads up that if they would like us to work on their home, whether cleaning or a home improvement project, to please consider planning ahead as we are booked for the next 2 months out and it doesn't look like things will be slowing down any time soon.

What we are doing in light of our growth


Our first priority is getting through the winter. As we approach the 2024 cleaning season we plan to expand our operation. We are aiming to hire 4 people as I take on more Handyman projects and Nikki manages the cleaning side of our business.
