It started with an old, broken fridge.
One day, I finally decided to get rid of this old, broken refrigerator in my basement. I didn't really know the right place to dispose of it. But even if I did, I didn't have the right vehicle to get the job done.

I went online and looked for Junk Removal services, hoping to find something like 1-800-GOT-JUNK. But I was having no such luck in a place like DownEast Maine. I kept searching and found some local guys on Google. I called 3 people, 2 of them never picked up and never called back.
The third person I called returned my call A WEEK LATER. I explained what I wanted, he said he could haul off the fridge and gave me a price. Then he asked where I was located... When I told him "Bar Harbor" he suddenly doubled the rate because he was based out of Bangor and would have to take a longer trip than usual. And I understand that. But now it was no longer worth it to me so I just left that eyesore of a fridge in the basement.

I've been dreaming of starting Homes of Acadia for years before finally going for it. And when I went through this experience, the first thing I said to myself is as soon as I have a truck I'm going to start offering Junk Removal services to the Island.

Well here it is. Our first truck. It's small, yes. And over time we intend to get a bigger one, as well as a trailer. But for now, yes, we can finally remove your junk! So do YOU have an old, broken fridge in your basement that you want hauled off? Let us know!
