Our Story
Meet Ian and Nikki Meyer, the husband‑and‑wife team behind Homes of Acadia. The Meyers moved to Bar Harbor in the summer of 2020 with their two children and quickly developed a deep appreciation for Mount Desert Island. After several years on the island, they eventually made their home in Ellsworth, where they continue to serve homeowners throughout the greater Acadia region. During their time in Bar Harbor, Ian’s work as a licensed real estate agent revealed a growing need for dependable home improvement services — a need they chose to meet by launching Homes of Acadia.
Ian is a longtime entrepreneur with decades of experience in sales, marketing, and business operations. He successfully ran a tour company in Boston for nine years and spent thirteen years providing digital marketing and web design services for small businesses in Maine and across the country. In his twenties, he worked in framing, various trades, and landscaping, work that helped shape his love for building and creating. He also hopes to write a book one day.
Nikki brings extensive expertise in customer service, training delivery, and team management. Before immigrating to the U.S., she worked in the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry, later serving as Operations Manager for a national IT consulting firm. She eventually left the corporate world to work alongside Ian in growing Homes of Acadia and to pursue a career in real estate. Outside of work, Nikki enjoys cooking, hosting family gatherings, and cheering on their boys at sports events.
